Description

Kristen Stewart, again...

I'm actually pretty happy about this one!
I like her mouth..

Took me about 8 hours to finish, I think.
Materials: 4B pencil, kneadable eraser I stole from my dad (he wasn't using it anyway..:))

Please tell me what you think about this one!

hiya, wanted to write this for you. i like when people request critique, it shows that you want to grow.

Vision: It looks like her. That’s a good start. You have skill which can be built upon. The nose is very 3D and nice dude.
The eyes are good eyes, but they don’t quite say “I’m Kristen”. They do say “im a pretty girl” which is good, but you wanna draw her a lot so you wanna get her right.
The eyes are the most important part of a portrait. The viewer has to believe them. You can get away with almost anything as long as the eyes are right.
If the reference has a background, draw it, it adds to the realism. Nail the eyes girlfriend.
Technique: I see you’ve only used one pencil, you need to use whatever tone the reference calls for. Kristen has dark hair, you gotta make it so. Tone makes a piece of art pop, it jumps out if someone sees it from far away. Without depth, the piece will be flat, and very faint. Charcoal kills that (in a good way) it really hooks it up, plus it doesn’t reflect in a scanner.
Orinality: ive seen this image drawn a lot so I gotta give you a low rating. I try to draw something nobody else has drawn on devart unless I can do it better or make it original.
Impact: Get yourself some tools. Kleenex for blending, tortillions, and some good pencils, Derwent have never done me wrong.
Come and talk to me about portraits anytime you like. I have videos you can study video <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/f/f…" width="46" height="21" alt=":film:" title="Film"/> take a look [link]
